The Red Labels are an indie punk rock quartet from North Dublin who in the past six months have rocketed to the top of many peoples lists of "ones to watch".
Having independently released their debut single "Fire" in July of this year to mixed reviews, the lads have spent since then touring the country relentlessly, clocking up nearly 90 gigs since the start of the year.
Still reveling in the warm glow that is an appearance at OXEGEN 2008, The Red Labels hard work was recently rewarded with some more high profile Irish festival appearances this summer which included CASTLEPALOOZA, SOLAS and KNOCKENSTOCKEN to name but a few.
The surge of energy, spirit and good old fashioned hard work has paid high dividend for THE RED LABELS with a pallet of achievements in the past ten months including:
- Finalist in the ACADEMY/ PHANTOM FM battle of the bands - which saw them beat 198 of Dublin’s best acts
- Self-release of their debut single "Fire"
- Nationwide radio airplay
- June 2008 02 Making Waves Band of the Month
- Featured artist for XBOX new Rockband Game advertisement
- Winners of the KING KONG CLUB Battle of the Bands
- Winners of the Templeogue Battle of the Bands
- Winners of the "Adidas, We are Originals" Music Awards
- Outstanding and much talked about performance on the OXEGEN 2008 “New Sounds Stage”
With a recent stint in London which saw the guys perform in the renouned Camden BARFLY, and with a electric show in Dublin's legendary REVOLVER under their belts the hype surrounding these four lads doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon.

The Red Labels are a Dublin four-piece who's raucously light rock should excite fans of The Libertines. Vocalist Dean Regan has a gravelly timbre reminiscent of Gomez's Ben Ottwell, and the boys possess enough hard riffage in their sound to keep most heads nodding.

"Wow! Some crazy-ass guitar work in all their songs, THE RED LABELS are on my Dublin hit list for the Sept HWCH Festival indeed."
Labels Rock Whelans
The Red Labels have been hopping from one Dublin venue to another in recent weeks and this week is no exception. Headlining in Whelans of Wexford Street last night these guys proved their here to stay. Playing to a modest Wednesday night crowd not even the fence-hangers could resist their poignant red-letter set. Touching on an early 80's punk vibe with a genuinely superb vocal aptitude and a truly underived sound all of their own.

THE RED LABELS have enough punch to keep Queens Of The Stone Age fans happy but their vocal dexterity gives them a very definite edge, likened to a grunge era Ramones.

As the Northside continues to produce some of the best bands we have heard in ages, we've got another one to add to the list. The Red Labels are an indie punk quartet producing some of the most inspired original lyrics we've heard in ages, and a punctuated by a punchy rhythm section and raw vocals that are made for live performances. The lads have literally just recorded their debut EP, and Relevant Thoughts, along with the rest of their catalogue can be downloaded for free on their myspace page
